Abstract
Persistent knowledge gaps concerning seismic base isolation continue to constrain the safe and economical design of coastal embankments. A test rig replicating conditions in coastal embankments was instrumented and monitored throughout the campaign. The model generalized well, with performance dropping by less than 11% on unseen data. The insights gained are expected to improve both safety margins and economic returns.
