Abstract
Documented safety incidents in tidal river basins have highlighted the consequences of poorly modelled self-compacting concrete. A detailed model was developed and validated against experimental measurements collected from tidal river basins. A 33% gain in durability was recorded during accelerated ageing tests. The evidence strengthens the case for integrating renewable resources into existing systems.
