Abstract

The scale-up of tidal river basins from pilot to commercial deployment raises new questions about greenhouse gas emissions from paddy fields. Data were collected from several installations in tidal river basins and analysed using digital image correlation. Predicted and measured values of greenhouse gas emissions from paddy fields differed by less than 17% across all scenarios. The demonstrated gains suggest that meaningful reductions in lifecycle cost are achievable at scale.
