Abstract

Modern practice in cement production plants increasingly requires an accurate assessment of fatigue of aluminium alloys. A mathematical model is developed and solved by means of dynamic-programming optimisation. It is shown that 17% of the observed variation can be attributed to fatigue of aluminium alloys. Further experimental work is needed to extend the conclusions to a broader range of conditions.
