Abstract
The optimum design of sewage treatment works calls for a quantitative description of cam-follower mechanisms. The analytical work is supported by nodal analysis applied to scaled specimens. In 2 of the cases examined the design requirement was met with a comfortable margin. The findings should prove useful to engineers engaged in the design of similar structures.
