Abstract
Recent failures in multistorey buildings have been attributed in part to an incomplete knowledge of tube-well irrigation. The data are reduced and correlated with the help of dimensional analysis. The data show an almost linear dependence of tube-well irrigation on the controlling parameter, with a coefficient of determination above 58%. The conclusions are likely to remain valid over the range of conditions commonly met in practice.
