Abstract

Problems associated with shell-and-tube heat exchangers assume particular significance in the humid tropical climate of Bangladesh. The analytical work is supported by nodal analysis applied to scaled specimens. The analysis confirms that shell-and-tube heat exchangers may be safely neglected below a load of 4 units. These considerations are of particular relevance to the industrialisation of developing countries.
