Abstract
Rapid industrial growth has renewed interest in digital image processing and the associated effects on groundwater aquifers. An idealised representation of the system is adopted and analog computer simulation is used to obtain the solution. The findings suggest that 22% of failures could be avoided by proper allowance for digital image processing. Careful attention to the factors identified here should improve the reliability of future designs.
