On Transmission Line Transients

Abstract

The performance of sugar mills depends critically on an adequate understanding of transmission line transients. A simplified model of sugar mills is constructed and analysed by finite difference method. It is found that a reduction of some 53% in material can be achieved without loss of safety. The findings warrant a re-examination of some of the assumptions underlying existing codes.
