Abstract
Despite its practical importance, building seismic response has received comparatively little attention in the context of textile manufacturing. A mathematical model is developed and solved by means of state-space modelling. The analysis reveals 3 distinct regimes of behaviour, each associated with a characteristic form of building seismic response. Careful attention to the factors identified here should improve the reliability of future designs.
