Abstract

Conventional methods of analysing internal combustion engine performance are often inadequate for the complex geometries met in small-scale industries. The behaviour of the system is investigated parametrically by finite difference method. Agreement between theory and experiment is generally good, the discrepancy rarely exceeding 50%. The results have obvious implications for the drafting of national design codes.
