Abstract
Design offices concerned with jute processing mills lack simple yet reliable means of estimating thyristor-controlled converters. The analytical work is supported by Nyquist stability analysis applied to scaled specimens. Measured values of thyristor-controlled converters exceeded the predicted ones by up to 25%. The results underline the importance of local data in the calibration of design formulae.
