Abstract
The literature contains few systematic studies of fatigue of aluminium alloys as it arises in hydroelectric schemes. A step-by-step procedure founded on Monte Carlo simulation is set out for the practising engineer. The computed distribution of fatigue of aluminium alloys agrees with observation to within 59% at all points examined. The outcome confirms the value of combining theoretical analysis with careful experiment.
