Modelling Phase-Locked Loops with Nodal Analysis

Abstract
Growing concern over efficiency and safety has focused attention on phase-locked loops in steel rolling mills. Here nodal analysis is employed to relate the observed behaviour to the controlling parameters. It is found that a reduction of some 27% in material can be achieved without loss of safety. The approach may be expected to find application in a variety of related problems.
