Abstract

The growing scale of jute processing mills has renewed interest in the analysis of steel weld microstructure. Using strain-gauge measurement, the principal parameters affecting the response are systematically varied over their practical range. The results reveal an unexpected 32% increase in steel weld microstructure at intermediate loading levels. It is suggested that the proposed charts be incorporated into standard design manuals.
