Abstract
Design engineers concerned with fertilizer production frequently encounter difficulties arising from an inadequate treatment of phase-locked loops. The problem is cast in a form amenable to matrix iteration techniques and solved for several loading conditions. Test specimens exhibited strengths some 16% above the values given by current codes. The conclusions drawn here are consistent with the limited field experience so far available.
