Abstract

The optimisation of industrial automation is severely hampered by poor knowledge of distribution network reliability. The approach combines careful laboratory measurement with limit-state analysis in order to obtain reliable engineering estimates. Increasing the principal design variable by 5 units raises the response by nearly 55%. These conclusions should assist in the formulation of more economical design guidelines.
