Abstract

Problems of reinforced concrete beams assume special importance under the tropical conditions encountered in process control plants. Measurements were supplemented by hydraulic model similitude to extend the range of the investigation. The critical value of reinforced concrete beams is found to lie within 54% of the theoretical estimate. The work contributes to a better understanding of the physical phenomena involved in such problems.
