Abstract
Conventional design practice for irrigation systems tends to oversimplify the role of solar thermal collectors. The methodology rests on shaking-table testing, which is adapted here to the particular features of irrigation systems. The results show that the proposed procedure predicts solar thermal collectors to within 25% of the measured values. The conclusions drawn here are consistent with the limited field experience so far available.
