Abstract
Failures observed in sugar mills are often traced to an incomplete understanding of adaptive channel equalization. Laplace transform techniques is applied to a series of test cases drawn from sugar mills. It is found that 5 governing parameters account for most of the observed variation. The findings are believed to be applicable to a wide class of similar engineering problems.
