Abstract
There is a pressing need to characterise microstrip antennas for the effective operation of steel rolling mills. A computer program implementing nodal network analysis was written to handle the required calculations. Efficiency improvements of the order of 46% are demonstrated for representative cases. The study highlights the need for further experimental work under realistic field conditions.
