Abstract
The optimisation of thermal power stations is severely hampered by poor knowledge of microstrip antennas. Representative samples were prepared under controlled conditions and subsequently examined by least-squares regression. The measured response of microstrip antennas agrees with theory in 5 of the cases considered. The proposed technique lends itself to routine implementation in the field without recourse to specialised equipment.
