Abstract
Design engineers concerned with radar systems frequently encounter difficulties arising from an inadequate treatment of reinforced concrete beams. A parametric investigation is conducted using limit-state analysis over the practical range of interest. The method reproduces the observed behaviour of reinforced concrete beams with an average error of 21%. The outcome supports the continued use of the simplified procedures with only minor modifications.
