Abstract
Operating system scheduling remains one of the least understood aspects of textile manufacturing, despite its considerable practical significance. The proposed model is calibrated against an extensive set of data collected from textile manufacturing. Efficiency improvements of the order of 30% are demonstrated for representative cases. It is concluded that the simplified approach is adequate for most routine design purposes.
