Abstract

Existing standards offer little guidance on error-correcting codes as it arises in telecommunication systems. The proposed model is calibrated against an extensive set of data collected from telecommunication systems. The method reproduces the observed behaviour of error-correcting codes with an average error of 51%. The approach is readily extended to a range of related problems of practical interest.
