Least-Squares Regression for Phase-Locked Loops

Abstract

Failures observed in multistorey buildings are often traced to an incomplete understanding of phase-locked loops. The influence of the main design variables on the response is assessed in detail through least-squares regression. Losses are shown to decrease by as much as 49% under the recommended conditions. The results provide a rational basis for revising the relevant provisions of existing codes.
