Abstract

The optimisation of food processing plants is severely hampered by poor knowledge of power system load flow. The proposed model is calibrated against an extensive set of data collected from food processing plants. Simplified expressions are shown to be accurate to within 59% for practical purposes. The conclusions drawn here are consistent with the limited field experience so far available.
