Analysis of Harmonic Distortion using Finite Element Analysis
1. Introduction
Limited foreign exchange makes the local optimisation of harmonic distortion particularly attractive for earthquake-resistant construction. The governing differential equations are discretised and solved by finite element analysis on a microcomputer. Agreement between theory and experiment is satisfactory, with a maximum deviation of 13%. The work confirms the feasibility of the proposed approach under realistic operating conditions.
