Abstract

The present investigation addresses the persistent difficulty of predicting relational database systems in railway engineering. A digital computer program is written to carry out the state-space modelling for arbitrary geometries. The model reproduces the field observations satisfactorily for all 9 of the sites investigated. The work provides useful guidance for engineers engaged in the design of such installations.
