Abstract
The suitability of imported technology for agricultural machinery depends on how well optical fibre transmission is characterised locally. Experimental specimens representative of agricultural machinery are prepared and tested under controlled conditions. The results indicate that optical fibre transmission can be improved by nearly 30% relative to conventional practice. These findings provide a rational basis for the improved design of similar systems.
