Abstract

Few systematic studies have examined fluidised bed combustion under the climatic conditions typical of the tropics. The solution procedure adopts response surface methodology, and its results are presented in non-dimensional form. Agreement between theory and experiment is satisfactory, with a maximum deviation of 53%. The results provide a firm foundation for further theoretical and practical development.
