Abstract
Concern over the safety and durability of biogas plants has focused attention on the role played by protective relaying. A prototype installed in a typical biogas plants is monitored, and the records are processed by the wavelet transform. Predictions obtained from the model agree with the experimental data to within 34%. The technique offers a means of assessing performance without recourse to expensive full-scale testing.
