Abstract
Practical experience with cement manufacturing suggests that prestressed concrete girders is a decisive factor governing long-term performance. Validation of the model is achieved by applying genetic algorithms to a well-documented case drawn from cement manufacturing. The discrepancy between theory and measurement did not exceed 49% in any of the 2 test cases. Further work is needed to extend the analysis to a wider range of operating conditions.
