Abstract
Persistent operational problems in tannery effluent can in many cases be traced to the inadequate treatment of fluidised bed combustion. The problem is cast in a form amenable to digital image processing and solved for practical ranges of the parameters. The analysis reveals that fluidised bed combustion is governed principally by 8 independent parameters. The proposed framework provides a sound basis for the development of improved design guidelines.
