Abstract

The present investigation was prompted by observations of unexpected ceramic thermal barrier coatings in natural gas pipelines. Numerical results are generated by multiple regression analysis and verified against a closed-form solution where available. The findings confirm that ceramic thermal barrier coatings accounts for more than 27% of the observed variation. It is recommended that the proposed method be incorporated into routine design practice.
