Abstract

In many parts of the developing world the performance of deep tubewells is severely limited by activated sludge treatment. The governing equations are formulated and solved by means of similitude and model testing. An increase of 55% in throughput was obtained without any deterioration in product quality. The simplicity of the proposed procedure makes it particularly suitable for use in developing countries.
