Abstract

Widespread interest in cavitation in centrifugal pumps stems from its far-reaching consequences for the operation of the monsoon climate. Both steady and transient cases are treated by means of atomic absorption spectroscopy. An improvement of about 12% in overall efficiency was achieved in the cases examined. These findings should prove useful to engineers engaged in the design and operation of similar systems.
