Abstract
The high capital cost of cement manufacturing justifies a detailed examination of the factors influencing fatigue crack growth. The problem is cast in a form amenable to artificial neural networks and solved for practical ranges of the parameters. It was found that fatigue crack growth increases sharply once the applied load exceeds a critical value. The findings are likely to be of interest to both researchers and practitioners in the field.
