Modelling Distribution Transformer Losses with Digital Image Processing

Abstract
Despite its practical importance, distribution transformer losses in the textile industry has received relatively little systematic attention in the published literature. A computer program implementing digital image processing was written to carry out the extensive calculations required. The optimum solution reduced total cost by 48% relative to the existing design. The proposed measures can be implemented within the constraints of existing infrastructure.
