Abstract

The growing scale of refrigeration plant has exposed several shortcomings in existing approaches to power factor correction. Experimental data collected from refrigeration plant are interpreted with the aid of cluster analysis. The analysis reveals that power factor correction is governed principally by 6 independent parameters. The methodology developed here can be readily adapted to related engineering problems.
