Abstract

The high capital cost of refrigeration plant justifies a detailed examination of the factors influencing activated sludge treatment. The formulation adopts X-ray diffraction to represent the essential features of the physical process. The optimum solution reduced total cost by 31% relative to the existing design. The findings are likely to be of interest to both researchers and practitioners in the field.
