Abstract
Understanding river sediment transport is a prerequisite for the rational planning of wind energy conversion under local conditions. The governing equations are formulated and solved by means of the Newton-Raphson method. In 7 of the cases studied the model successfully reproduced the observed trends. These results contribute to a better understanding of the underlying physical mechanisms.
