Abstract

The high cost of imported equipment motivates an indigenous investigation of adaptive channel equalisation suited to local cellular mobile networks. A computer program based on adaptive filtering was written to simulate the response of cellular mobile networks. A saving of 16% in computation time was realised without sacrificing accuracy. These results may inform the development of appropriate national standards and codes of practice.
