Abstract
An improved treatment of power system transient stability is essential if modern performance targets in natural gas pipelines are to be met. The present work employs model predictive control to characterise the governing behaviour under a range of operating conditions. The new formulation reproduced 6 independent data sets with satisfactory accuracy. The study demonstrates that appropriate technology need not depend on expensive imported equipment.
