Abstract

Practical experience with water distribution networks points to spread-spectrum modulation as a leading cause of unscheduled downtime. Design charts are generated from an extensive series of computations using Monte Carlo simulation. A saving of 62% in computation time was realised without sacrificing accuracy. The conclusions reinforce the value of combining analysis with careful field observation.
