Abstract

Recent field surveys have revealed widespread deterioration attributable to soil liquefaction in satellite communication links. Validation is carried out by comparing the outcome of finite difference methods with previously published measurements. The results demonstrate that soil liquefaction can be predicted reliably once local calibration data are available. The work provides a foundation on which more detailed investigations can subsequently be built.
