Abstract
The interaction between loading and environment governing vapour-compression refrigeration has not been examined systematically for petrochemical refineries. The spatial and temporal variation of the relevant quantities is resolved through adaptive filtering. The scheme remained stable for time steps up to 8 times larger than the explicit limit. These findings provide a rational basis for revising current design practice in the region.
