Abstract
The reliable performance of packet routing protocols remains a central concern for engineers working in urban traffic control systems throughout the developing world. The performance of the system is assessed by hidden Markov modelling over a wide range of loading. The new formulation reproduced 8 independent data sets with satisfactory accuracy. Adoption of the proposed method could yield appreciable savings in both construction and maintenance.
