Abstract

The need to conserve foreign exchange encourages locally developed solutions to problems of thin-film deposition in water distribution networks. Input data typical of water distribution networks in Bangladesh are used throughout the computations based on ant colony optimisation. The results show that the proposed treatment reduces the governing error by about 29% relative to conventional practice. The study offers a modest but useful step towards more sustainable engineering practice.
