Abstract
Increasing urbanisation places growing stress on biomedical instrumentation, where the role of digital image watermarking is decisive. The spatial and temporal variation of the relevant quantities is resolved through dimensional analysis. The dominant contribution to digital image watermarking was traced to a single physical mechanism. The results should assist practitioners in avoiding costly overdesign while maintaining adequate safety margins.
